Cabinet Sizes:
Each type of cabinet (base, tall, wall and larder or dresser top) is a standard height. This is to make sure that whatever cabinets you want will work together.
Some cabinets have fixed widths and depths, while others have a choice of widths and depths. As you select each cabinet, the relevant options will be shown to you so you can choose the size you need.
Ceiling Height:
Our tall cabinets are 2150mm high. You will need a minimum ceiling height of 2235mm to stand them up in your kitchen.
Cabinet Recesses (at rear of cabinet):
Base and tall cabinets have a 50mm recess at the back to allow for pipes etc. (waste bin cabinets have a 30mm recess)
Wall cupboards have a 20mm recess at the back so the cabinet can be scribed to fit an uneven wall if necessary.
Worktop Sizes:
Please note that dresser tops and larder tops sit on the worktop, so if you want them to be the same height as a tall unit you will need to use a 30mm worktop.
If you are not using dresser tops or larder tops you can use any size worktop.
The space between the worktop and wall cupboards is 470mm (if you are using a 30mm worktop).
Oven and Fridge Housings:
Don't forget that this is a proper in-frame kitchen and so the oven housings and fridge housings are 680mm wide, not 600mm like a flat pack kitchen. Make sure you allow for this in your plan.
Door and Drawer Style:
The drawer has a flat front with beading around the aperture. The door is a shaker door with beading around the aperture.
2. Cabinet Options:
Some cabinets have one or more extra options as follows:
Sides on show after fitting:
Once fitted, some of your cabinets will form part of a run of cabinets. If a cabinet is on the end of a run, you will need to tell us which side will be on show. Some of your tall or wall cabinet may have both sides on show. As you select each cabinet, you will be able to select the option you want from a drop down box. Any sides on show will be flat.
Cutlery Trays:
There is an option to add a cutlery tray to some cabinets. The layout of the cutlery tray will depend on the cabinet width and will be as follows:
Cabinet Width | Cutlery Tray Layout |
400mm, 450mm | 2 vertical over 1 horizontal |
500mm, 550mm | 3 vertical over 1 horizontal |
600mm, 650mm, 700mm, 750mm | 4 vertical over 1 horizontal |
800mm, 850mm | 5 vertical over 2 horizontal |
900mm, 950mm, 1000mm | 6 vertical over 2 horizontal |
- Picture above shows 7 vertical over 2 horizontal divisions, but please note the biggest available on this shopping cart is 6 vertical over 2 horizontal divisions.
Extra Shelves:
The product description will tell you how many shelves each cabinet is supplied with. If you need more there is a dropdown box on each product enabling you to choose 1, 2 or 3 more shelves.
Internal Drawers:
Some cabinets have an option to add 3 internal drawers like the picture below. If you choose to add the drawers you will also have an option to have the drawer fronts engraved.
Engraving:
We have some cabinets that can be engraved. When looking through the range you will see that they all have an E suffix to the item code. If a cabinet can be engraved, you will see boxes to enter the letters you want.
1. The front of some tall cabinets can be engraved at the top with your choice of up to 6 capital letters.
2. Some drawer fronts can be engraved with up to 8 letters. Either capitals or capital and lower case.
3. As mentioned above if you add internal drawers you can also have these engraved with up to 8 letters. Either capitals or capital and lower case.
You can choose whatever words you want up to the max limit, previous customers have gone for coffee, tea, etc, some have gone for children's names, so each one has their own treat drawer. But it's completely up to your imagination.
Plinth Style:
As you select your cabinets you can choose the plinth style for each cabinet from a dropdown box. This is because the cabinets are built slightly differently depending on plinth style. At this stage you are just choosing the plinth style for the cabinet. Once you have added all the cabinets you want, you can add the number of metres of plinth that you want from the Accessories category, and we will send the correct plinth for the style you have chosen.
The 3 plinth styles are:
1. You can fit the plinth to the front of the cabinet legs. This is called "Planted".
2. You can cut the plinth and fit it between the cabinet legs. This is called "Framed".
3. You can fit the plinth under the cabinet. This is called "Recessed"
